A personal tour for those wanting more of an educational experience
with our best guides.
After being fitted out with glacier boots at the company office,
a 10 minute bus ride takes clients to within 2½ kilometres (2
miles) of the glacier. The walk to the glacier is intentionally
slow, with guides calling stops to explain features of the environment
and answer questions.
The trip proceeds on to the terminal face of the glacier for
up to 1 hour (conditions permitting). The terrain can look daunting
but be assured, the pre-formed access-ways make it achievable
for most agile people. Hundreds of sprightly seniors and toddlers
in backpacks have enjoyed the experience. Minimum of 4 people
required. |
