Itinerary
Your day starts at 8:45 on the beach at Kaiteriteri where your guide will get you ready to kayak and give you a safety breifing. Leaving the beach at about 9:30, we paddle north past Ngaio Island to the famous Split Apple Rock.

The next step is to cross Marahau Bay and arrive at Appletree Bay. Appletree Bay is part of a beautiful section of the Abel Tasman coastline known as the Astrolabe, we arrive here about 11:30 and take some time to enjoy a hot drink beach cafe style!

We spend the afternoon exploring the Astrolabe, stopping along the way to enjoy the beaches and sunshine. Adele and Fishermans Island's are frequent choices for a stop as we start the return journey to Kaiteriteri. They provide an isolated coastline with the chance for wildlife encounters.

Weather conditions permitting, we use the afternoon seabreeze to sail back from Fishermans Island to Kaiteriteri Beach where we finish our journey just before 5:00pm. Please note: This itinerary is an outline only. Your guide may decide to vary this program based on their judgement of weather & sea conditions and client ability/fitness levels. Flora & FaunaIncreased time on the water improves the chance of random encounters with sea-life. Experience shows we are more likely to sight dolphins on this tour than any other. Seals live at the back of Adele Island for 8 months of the year (March – October).

We also pass a couple of shag colonies along the way. Places such as Stillwell Bay are guide-favourites to be shared with you, as we paddle around distinctive caves and arches, surrounded by bright green tree-ferns. Adele Island is now part of a stoat-trapping program to help revive native bird populations. The views from this island track aren’t too bad either!
