Kaiteriteri Kayaks realise that for many a reason people’s
plans change. Whether it’s due to illness, accident or
a simple change of heart. Kaiteriteri Kayaks may have incurred
expenses in taking your booking and turned away other interested
parties. Also due to the many moods of Mother Nature Kaiteriteri
Kayaks are not willing for trips to go if Kaiteriteri Kayaks
deem the conditions unsafe or unsuitable.

Cancellation by Clients before Departure Date
72 hours prior to departure – no refund of deposit
Change of itinerary due to unsafe weather conditions
Once your trip has started there are no refunds. This also includes
any groups that return before their period of hire has finished.
If high winds and big seas on the last day of your hire, mean
you can’t safely paddle back to Kaiteriteri. Stay an extra
day until it is safe to paddle out. There is no extra cost for
this day. Or catch a water taxi back to Kaiteriteri. This cost
you will have to incur yourselves.
Client Capability
During the briefing, our guide will be judging clients on their
capability to cope with kayaking on their own. Many variables
affect our decision. Sometimes clients do not meet up to the
required standards. They still have the opportunity to explore
the lower and more sheltered end of the park before returning
back to Kaiteriteri with their guide. They will receive a full
refund minus NZD$65 for administration and guiding costs.
