All services stop regularly for refreshments and restroom facilities. Travelpass holders may also use the coach services of approved private operators who travel to more isolated regions.

Holders of 3-in-One and 4-in-One Travelpasses have the choice of any 2 of the following rail journeys:
• The TranzAlpine daily between Christchurch and Greymouth or vice versa
• The Tranz Coastal daily between Christchurch and Picton or vice versa
• The Overlander daily between Wellington and Auckland or vice versa
• The Northerner overnight between Wellington and Auckland or vice verse
• Note: A "rail journey" = a one-way trip. If you wish to book a return trip (i.e. Christchurch – Greymouth – Christchurch) this = two rail journeys.

Crossing Cook Strait
Travelling between Wellington and Picton is easy by either The InterIslander which operate several times a day in each direction. The InterIslander cruise takes approximately 3 hours. A great way to enjoy the spectacular scenery of Wellington Harbour and the Marlborough Sounds!

4-in-One New Zealand Travelpass includes air travel on Air New Zealand. Please note the following:
• Short Flight/Long Flight Definitions:
Short Flight - Any domestic flight within North or South Island of New Zealand.
• Long Flight - Any domestic flight between North and South Island of New Zealand.
• Exceptions:
Auckland to Nelson or Blenheim or vice versa is a short flight.
• Tauranga or Taupo or Napier to Nelson or vice versa is a short flight.
• Embargoed:
Flights between Rotorua and Queenstown (or vice versa) are not available.
• Your Air New Zealand flight is valid for a through fare and travel must be completed on the same day.
