Diesel
Tax Recovery Fee
On 1st March 2002 the New Zealand government announced changes
to its taxation policy for diesel light commercial vehicles
in New Zealand. The changes were introduced by the Government
to provide funding to improve road safety and reduce traffic
congestion on New Zealand's roads.
As a result many light commercial vehicles in New Zealand
are subject to the revised taxation regime. The new tax regime
relates to Diesel vehicles only, the vehicle rates for Britz
are as follows: |

| The Diesel Tax Recovery fee will be calculated
on return of your vehicle based on the kilometres travelled
during your hire. Payment will be accepted locally at completion
of your hire. Britz does not profit from this fee. This fee
is collected for remittance to the government. Diesel prices
in New Zealand are cheap in comparison to other countries. In
other countries such taxes are put into the pump price of diesel. |
